What We Offer
What is Positive Behaviour Support?
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based framework used to understand and address challenging behaviours in individuals with disability. It is a person-centred approach that focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviour — not just the behaviour itself.
PBS takes a holistic view of the individual, considering their environment, communication, relationships, and daily life. The goal is to improve quality of life and reduce the occurrence of behaviours of concern, while ensuring dignity and respect are maintained throughout.
Under the NDIS, Positive Behaviour Support must be delivered by a registered practitioner in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements — particularly where restrictive practices are involved.
Person-Centred
PBS places the individual at the centre of all planning and decision-making. Their preferences, needs, goals, and communication are fundamental to every strategy developed.
Evidence-Based
All assessments and strategies are grounded in the latest research and clinical evidence, ensuring the support provided is effective and appropriate for each individual.
Trauma-Informed Care
We provide trauma-informed behaviour support that recognises the impact past experiences can have on emotions, behaviour, and daily life. Our approach focuses on safety, trust, respect, and person-centred strategies that support wellbeing and positive outcomes.
Behaviour Support Assessments & Planning
We provide a comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support service — from initial assessment through to plan development, implementation support, and review.
Functional Behaviour Assessment
We gather information about the individual's behaviour, environment, and support network to understand the function of behaviours of concern. This forms the foundation of all support planning.
Behaviour Support Plan Development
Based on the assessment, we develop a comprehensive, individualised Behaviour Support Plan — including interim plans where restrictive practices are in use — outlining prevention, intervention, and support strategies.
Behaviour Support Plan Implementation
We work closely with participants, families, and support teams to implement behaviour support strategies in everyday environments. Our focus is on consistency, skill development, and improving quality of life through practical, person-centred support.
Ongoing Review & Monitoring
Behaviour support is not a one-off. We provide ongoing monitoring and regular plan reviews to ensure strategies remain effective and responsive to the individual's changing needs.

Who Can Benefit
Positive Behaviour Support for a Range of Disabilities
Positive Behaviour Support can benefit individuals with a wide range of disabilities and support needs. Below are some of the primary groups we work with.
Cognitive Impairments
Individuals with cognitive impairments such as intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, dementia, and other neurological conditions may experience challenges with communication, behaviour, memory, and daily functioning. PBS can help identify the underlying reasons for these changes and develop strategies to support positive behaviour and improve quality of life.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Individuals with ASD may experience challenges with social communication, sensory processing, and changes in routine that can contribute to behaviours of concern. PBS develops strategies to prevent and respond to these behaviours and promote participation in daily life.
Psychosocial Disabilities
Individuals with PBS such as schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder may experience behaviours linked to emotional or mental health challenges. Positive Behaviour Support helps improve wellbeing, emotional regulation, and daily participation through personalised strategies.
